Sukha Sunday for Love, Joy, and Happiness

Join Monica for a magical holiday yoga class to deepen our connection with love, joy, and happiness this season.

We will awaken our senses through a gentle yoga asana practice with breathwork and meditation to create “Sukha” or “good space” in the mind and body. This long practice will allow time and space for the muscles and tissues to open gradually: to release tension in the body, calm the nervous system, and relax the mind….moving into the space of love, joy, and happiness.

All levels are welcome.

Our hands become tools to calm and still the overactivity of the mind, bringing peace and awakening to our innately noble heart. In this practice, we will learn a flow of mudras to release the baggage that accumulates from overstimulation and guide the heart into a state of calm

Intro to Ayurveda and the Doshas

Restore the natural balance of your body and mind.

Monica Limon, RYT500, E-RYT200, YACEP

Studio: Temple Yoga Reno

Sunday | February 26 @ 1-4pm

Cost: $54

Total 3 CEU credits for yoga teachers

In this workshop we will explore the principles of Ayurveda to restore balance for a healthy mind and body. According to Ayurveda, our physical bodies are composed of three different doshas known as Vata, Kapha, and Pitta. All three doshas constantly fluctuate according to our environment, our diet, the seasons, the climate, our age, and many more factors.

When we recognize when our mind and body feels “in” or “out” of balance we can begin to restore our natural state of bliss and true balance through diet, sleep, pranayama, yoga, meditation, and Ayurvedic self-care techniques to support our individual dosha or body type.

What you will learn:

Introduction to Ayurvedic principles to restore balance for a healthy body and mind.

  • Take a dosha quiz to find out your Vikruti or current imbalances.

  • Explore how pranayama, mantras, mudras, asanas, and meditation can restore your natural state of balance and bliss.

  • Enjoy a tri-doshic spice tea.

  • Discussion on Ayurvedic lifestyle, seasonal recipes for each dosha, daily routines and cleanses.

  • Abhyanga (Ayurvedic self-massage) Sangha - 15 min. of sharing insights and experiences

No prior knowledge of Ayurveda is required, just a playful curiosity to experience the wisdom of Ayurveda.

Takeaways: Handout with an introduction to Ayurveda with yoga sequences and Ayurvedic nutrition tips for balancing the doshas.

What to bring: Yoga mat and journal.
