WHAT ARE THE CHAKRAS?
The seven chakras are energy centers in our bodies that energy flows through. When energy is blocked in any of these seven areas, it can lead to emotional or physical illness. It’s important to know where your chakras are located, what they represent, and how you can keep the energy flowing through them.
Illuminating the seven major chakras from your base to your crown:
CHAKRA SIX
Third Eye Chakra | Anja
Sanskrit: To Command, to Know, to Follow, Command Center
Element: Light
Color: Indigo
Bija Mantra: OM or KaSham
Mudra: Kalesvara Mudra
Meditation: Wheels of Life - pg. 277
Affirmation: I trust my intuition. I have a clear vision of my life. I am open to new ideas and perspectives. I quickly see the truth behind the facade. I make wise decisions based on my intuition.
What is it? This chakra is is located eyebrow level mid-brain and is associated with your intuition, or sixth sense. It governs how the rest of the chakras function. It is the meeting point between two important energetic streams in the body, the ida and pingala nadis, and the place where the mind and the body converge.
Deficient (Tamas): Low or blocked Ajna energy impedes your ability to remember and concentrate. Processing speed slows and you may be prone to procrastination and indecision.
Excessive (Rajas): When the third eye chakra is overactive, the mind races. You can feel that buzzy energy of over-caffeination or sleeplessness. It can be difficult to concentrate or stay on task.
Balanced (Sattva): Ajna means “beyond wisdom,” and in balance you experience expanded imagination, clairvoyance, synchronicity, and intuition.
